3d/4d ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure. It is same as your regular ultrasound appointment. 2D, 3D and 4D Ultrasound all utilize same intensity sound waves to look inside the body and the images are transmitted by the sound waves onto the screen.

Since this procedure is elective and non-diagnostic, Alberta healthcare does not cover this procedure. An insurance company will rarely provide coverage for it. You will need to make the full payment on appointment day and submit a claim with your insurance company later on.

Off course! This appointment is all about bonding and celebrating this special moment with your loved ones. Everyone's welcome to enjoy this experience.

Can 3D/4D ultrasound always give good pictures of the face?

A good picture is depends on the baby's position, the amount of fluid, location of placenta , hands/cord around the face and maternal size can interfere with the quality of images. We recommend booking 1 hr session to ensure enough time for each session.

Note: If the baby's face is not seen throughout the session, we will repeat the scan free of cost.

We recommend baby gender determination sessions on or after the 16th week of pregnancy. If we can not determine baby’s gender during your appointment, you are most welcome for a rescan with no extra charges.

Please notify us you are expecting more than 1 baby when booking an appointment. We will need to book enough time to make sure we get each baby the coverage needed.
